Best Indian Matrimonial Sites in the UK: An Honest Comparison

By Venkata Nagireddi, Founder & CEO, NRI Hearts (Atlanta, GA)

Looking for an Indian matrimonial site in the UK? Here's what the best-known ones actually offer, taken from each site's own pages and linked so you can check. We run NRI Hearts, which is one of the sites below, so we haven't crowned a winner. Instead, we've said who each site suits.

What are the best Indian matrimonial sites in the UK?

The best-known Indian matrimonial sites in the UK are the big Indian portals Shaadi.com, BharatMatrimony and Jeevansathi, UK-only sites such as UK Matrimonials and UK Indian Matrimony, events-led services such as Asian Single Solution, and NRI Hearts. Which one is best depends on whether you want the biggest pool, a UK-only site, in-person events or matches who already live in the UK.

How did we compare these sites?

We used only what each site says about itself on its own public pages, fetched on 13 October 2026, and linked every claim so you can check it. We didn't buy paid plans, measure reply rates or rank sites by member numbers, because those numbers are self-reported and not comparable.

Quotation marks in the table mean the words are the site's own. Sites change their pages often, so check the link before you decide. If any entry is out of date, tell us and we'll correct it. Living in the US instead? See our comparison of matrimonial sites in the USA.

Which is the biggest Indian matrimonial site in the UK?

By its own figures, Shaadi.com makes the largest claim, with "350 Lakhs+" registered members (35 million or more) on its UK page. That is a platform-wide total, not a count of members in the UK; among UK-only sites, UK Matrimonials claims "1000000+ Active Profiles".

None of the big portals says how many of its members live in the UK. The best test of any site's size is the one you run yourself: register free, search your own town and age range, and count the profiles that are active.

Are there free Indian matrimonial sites in the UK?

Free registration is common: Shaadi.com, BharatMatrimony, UK Matrimonials, UK Indian Matrimony, Prime Rishta and MatrimonialsIndia all say you can register or post a profile free. NRI Hearts is free to register and search, with messaging on subscription.

"Free to register" isn't the same as "free to use", so check whether you can message someone before you pay. Most of the sites above don't publish prices on the pages we checked, so you'll usually see them only after signing up.

What does "verified" mean on a matrimonial site?

It means different things on different sites, so ask each one exactly what it checks. UK Indian Matrimony describes a government ID upload and selfie check, Shaadi.com says every profile goes through verification, and on NRI Hearts every profile is email-verified and manually reviewed by our team before it goes live. NRI Hearts does not check identity documents, marital status, immigration status or income, so those checks stay with you and your family.

If a match's plans depend on a visa, check the rules yourself on GOV.UK rather than relying on what anyone tells you. Our safety tips and our checklist on how to choose a matrimonial site list the questions to ask, and the warning signs of a fake profile.

Are there in-person Indian singles events in the UK?

Yes. Asian Single Solution, which describes "dating and matrimonial services" for South Asians, lists events in London and Birmingham, including a Birmingham event for Hindu and Sikh singles on 12 December 2026.

Its events page also lists a masquerade ball in central London on 31 October 2026 and an evening for single parents and divorced people in London on 27 November 2026, each with set age ranges. Prices aren't shown on the page, and events mix dating with marriage, so ask what the organisers expect before you book.

Which site suits British-born Indians, and which suits recent arrivals?

British-born Indians often prefer UK-only sites and events, where most people grew up in the UK, while recent arrivals on Skilled Worker or Health and Care Worker visas often prefer the large Indian portals, where family in India can take part. Either way, choose a site whose UK search shows people who actually live in the UK.

If you're here on a work visa, talk openly with any match about where you both plan to live, and read the official guidance on the Skilled Worker visa and Health and Care Worker visa yourself. We can't advise on immigration.

On NRI Hearts, a UK search shows people who live in the UK, and you can narrow it by community, from Tamil and Gujarati to Punjabi. See how it works on our Indian matrimony in the UK page.
