How to Register on NRI Hearts
Last updated: October 2026
Whether you are looking for yourself or for a son, daughter or relative, registering on NRI Hearts is free. This guide walks through every screen, from creating the account to the moment the profile appears in search.
What you'll need
- An email address you check regularly
- A phone number that can receive a text code
- A recent, clear photo of the person who is getting married
- Their details: education, career, family, horoscope (if you use one) and what they are looking for in a partner
Choose who the profile is for
Open the registration page and pick one of four options:
- Myself: you are looking for your own life partner.
- My Son or My Daughter: you are a parent managing the profile.
- A Family Member / Relative: a sibling, cousin or other relative.
Before you create a profile for someone else, talk to them first, so they know about it and agree.
Enter the account holder's details
The account holder is the person who signs in, so a parent enters their own name here, not their son's or daughter's. You'll be asked for:
- Your full name
- Your email address, which you'll use to sign in
- A password of at least 8 characters, with an uppercase letter, a lowercase letter, a number and a special character
- The country you live in, and whether you are of Indian origin
Tick the box to agree to the terms, then select Create Account.
Confirm your email
We email you a 6-digit code. Enter it on the Verify Your Email screen. The code is valid for 10 minutes. If it doesn't arrive, check your spam folder, or ask for a new code.
Create the profile
Next you'll fill in the profile itself. It has these sections:
- Who is creating this profile? Parent, self or relative.
- Profile photo (required). A recent photo of the person who is getting married, alone and facing the camera. You can choose to blur it, so it's shown clearly only to members whose photo request you accept.
- Contact details. A phone number with the country code. We text a code to verify it. Choose Private (shown only after mutual interest) or Public.
- Personal details. Gender, date of birth, height, religion, community, mother tongue, marital status, diet and where they live.
- Education & career. Highest degree, profession and where they work.
- Family details. Parents' occupations, family type and values, and siblings.
- Horoscope details. Manglik status, whether a horoscope is available, and star (nakshatra). You can check compatibility later with our free kundali matching.
- Partner preferences. Age range, location, education and anything else that matters to your family.
Photos we can't accept
To protect families from fake profiles, a photo is refused if it shows no face, shows a group, is too small, shows a face turned away, or is already used on another NRI Hearts account.
Choose whether to show the profile in search
When you save, you'll be asked about Search Visibility. Choose Show in Search so matching families can find the profile. You can keep it hidden if you'd rather search first.
Get the Photo verified badge (optional)
A short live selfie, about 30 seconds, is compared with the profile photo. If they match, the profile shows a Photo verified badge, which tells families the photo is real. The selfie must be taken by the person in the photo, so if you're a parent, send them the photo verification link.
Our team reviews the profile
Every profile is email-verified and manually reviewed by our team before it goes live. We do not check identity documents, marital status, visa status, employment or income, so before you commit to a match, follow our checklist for verifying an NRI groom or bride.
Search matches and connect
On the free plan you can search by country, city and community and read profile details. Names and photos, sending interests and messaging other families directly come with a paid plan. Read our safety tips before you share personal details with anyone.
Registering for a son or daughter?
- Make sure they know about the profile and agree to it.
- Use their photo, not a family photo or one of yourself.
- Be accurate about where they live, their work, and their citizenship or visa status. These are the details other families care about most.
- Keep the phone number Private until there is mutual interest, and let them take the Photo verified selfie themselves.
Frequently asked questions
Can parents register on NRI Hearts for their son or daughter?
Yes. On the registration page, choose My Son or My Daughter. The parent is the account holder and manages the profile, but the photo and details on the profile must be of the son or daughter who is getting married.
Is it free to register?
Yes. Registering, creating a profile, searching and our kundali-matching and marriage-biodata tools are free. Seeing names and photos in search, sending interests and direct messaging are available on a paid plan.
I didn't get the email code. What should I do?
Check your spam or promotions folder for an email from NRI Hearts. The code is valid for 10 minutes, so if it has expired, ask for a new code on the verification screen.
Will my phone number be shown to everyone?
Only if you choose. In Contact Details you can mark the number Private, which means it is shown only after mutual interest, or Public, which shows it on the profile.
Does NRI Hearts check documents, marital status or visa status?
No. Every profile is email-verified and manually reviewed by our team before it goes live. We do not check identity documents, marital status, visa status, employment or income, so those checks remain the family's responsibility.
Who should take the Photo verified selfie?
The person in the profile photo, which means the son, daughter or relative who is getting married. The live selfie is compared with the profile photo, so it can't be done by a parent on their behalf.
