Getting married in Los Angeles: LA County marriage licence

Get a California marriage licence before the ceremony. At the Los Angeles County Registrar-Recorder/County Clerk (Los Angeles County Registrar-Recorder/County Clerk):

  • Fees: public licence $91, confidential licence $85; a civil ceremony at the clerk's office is $35.
  • Both partners come together with valid, unexpired government photo ID. Apply online, then book an appointment at one of the branches.
  • Valid for 90 days. No blood test, residency or citizenship requirement.

Public or confidential? A public licence needs at least one witness and becomes a public record; a confidential licence is for couples already living together, needs no witness, and the record is available only to the couple (City and County of San Francisco). A California licence can be used anywhere in the state.

Planning an Indian wedding in Los Angeles

  • Temple ceremony: the Malibu Hindu Temple (Malibu Hindu Temple), the Los Angeles Hindu Temple (Los Angeles Hindu Temple) and the Pasadena Sivan Temple's priest (Pasadena Sivan Temple) list wedding services; the Sikh Center of Orange County takes wedding bookings (Sikh Center of Orange County).

Finding an Indian partner in Los Angeles

The Los Angeles community stretches from Calabasas to Irvine and the Inland Empire, so families often meet through temples, language associations and friends. On NRI Hearts you can search members who live in Southern California by community and religion. Few people search for “Indian matrimony Los Angeles”, but the members box above shows who is looking nearby right now.

Every NRI Hearts profile is email-verified and manually reviewed before it goes live; we do not check marital status, visa or employment, so do your own checks too (how to verify an NRI match). You can check kundali compatibility before you talk, and see what each verification badge covers.
