Getting married in Dallas: Texas marriage licence

Get the licence at least 72 hours before the wedding. At the Dallas County Clerk (Dallas County Clerk):

  • Fee: $80, or $21 with a Twogether in Texas premarital course certificate.
  • Waiting period: the ceremony cannot take place in the 72 hours after the licence is issued (Texas Family Code §2.204, 72-hour waiting period (FindLaw copy)); the course certificate, active military duty or a judge's order waives it.
  • Valid for 90 days. Apply online first, then both partners appear in person with government photo ID and a Social Security number.

In Collin County (Frisco, Plano, McKinney, Allen) the fee is also $80, or $20 with a premarital course certificate.

Planning an Indian wedding in Dallas

  • Temple ceremony: the DFW Hindu Temple (DFW Hindu Temple) and the Radha Krishna Temple (Radha Krishna Temple of Dallas) publish wedding prices and rent halls; the Fort Worth temple rents halls (Hindu Temple of Greater Fort Worth).
  • Timing: book the county clerk at least 72 hours and no more than 90 days before the wedding, or take the course to skip the wait.
  • Vendors: see the confirmed caterers, decorators and photographers in our Texas guide; we only list vendors we have verified.
  • Guests from India: they need US visitor visas, so send invitations early.

Finding an Indian partner in Dallas–Fort Worth

With large communities in Frisco, Irving, Plano and Allen, DFW is one of the easiest places in the US to meet someone who shares your language and traditions, but families still struggle to find the right person. On NRI Hearts you can search members who live in North Texas by community and religion, and the box above shows who is looking nearby right now.

Every NRI Hearts profile is email-verified and manually reviewed before it goes live; we do not check marital status, visa or employment, so do your own checks too (how to verify an NRI match). You can check kundali compatibility before you talk, and see what each verification badge covers.
